Our support with university applications begins in Year 12. During enrichment, local universities will run workshops for students on choosing university courses, student finance and life as an undergraduate. Throughout the year, there will be the opportunity to visit different universities and to take part in activities within subject areas in a university setting.
In the Summer Term, students will begin to complete their university applications and will receive support in writing their personal statement. They will be encouraged to attend university open days and will visit the North West Higher Education Conference.
UCAS support continues in Year 13 as students submit their final forms before October half-term and attend Applicant Open Days at the universities they have received offers from.
As a College, we have a bespoke Oxbridge Programme to provide support and guidance to those students who wish to apply to the universities of Oxford or Cambridge.
We actively encourage applications to Russell Group Universities and students have the opportunity to join the University of Liverpool Scholar’s Programme.
Students who fulfil the eligibility criteria are also encouraged to take part in the Social Mobility Foundation Programme which provides comprehensive support for students who may be the first in their family to attend university.
In addition we hold parent/carer information sessions on UCAS and Student Finance.
